Meet Our Team

Dr. Kevin Schengrund is the owner of Hershey Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Schengrund is a graduate of Penn State University and received his DVM degree from Purdue University in 1988. After graduation Dr. Schengrund worked in Las Vegas before returning to his hometown of Hershey and opening Hershey Veterinary Hospital in 1990. Joanne became our office manager in 2018 after being a client for over 25 years. Joanne is a CPA who previously ran her family’s business prior to its sale. Joanne shares her home with her dog, Asti, and has a large pond with 28 goldfish and multiple frogs. Joanne loves to try different wines and enjoys reading and gardening.

Janell has been a team member since the year 2000. Janell received her degree in veterinary medical technology from Wilson College. Janell shares her home with her husband, 2 sons, 2 Great Danes, and 3 cats. Janell enjoys spending time with the family, riding bikes, and hiking.

Beth has been one of our receptionists since 2007 after being referred by a friend. Beth shares her home with her husband, daughter, and 2 chocolate labs. Beth enjoys being outside, as well as traveling and cooking.

Kim started her veterinary career in equine medicine before joining our team in 2010. Kim currently works as one of our receptionists. Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons, as well as horseback riding.

Delaney joined the Hershey Vet team in 2014 after many years coming as a client. Delaney is a graduate of Penn State and is attending the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School.   Delaney also enjoys spending time with her Shih Tzu named Caspian, hiking, baking, and photography.

Kelsey has always loved animals and after attending Lancaster County CTC, she joined the Hershey Vet team in 2014. Kelsey is our full-time groomer. Kelsey lives with her husband, two sons, and her yellow lab, Carly. When not at work Kelsey enjoys: camping, listening to music, being outdoors, and spending time with the family.

Jessica joined the Hershey Veterinary Hospital team in April of 2022. She assists Kelsey with bathing the dogs; she also helps to care for the dogs and cats.  When not working, Jess enjoys spending time outdoors and at the beach with her two daughters, Ellie and Kiley, and her husband.  She has two cats, Lakota and Mocha.

Cadence joined our team in February of 2020 after a friend told her about a job opportunity at Hershey Veterinary Hospital.  She has two cats, Axl and Izzy.  Cadence enjoys listening to music, photography, and competitive shooting.

Kali joined the team in 2017 and is working as one of our receptionists. Kali grew up on a farm and recently purchased a small farm with her husband. Kali has 2 dogs; Hank and Kasey. In addition, she is a Washington Capitals hockey fan, she enjoys: reading, snowmobiling, and riding four-wheelers.

Bailey joined the team in 2021.  She is a student at Hershey High School.  She lives with her parents and 2 siblings in Hershey.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  One of her hobbies is cooking and baking.  Her sister, Maddy, also works at Hershey Veterinary Hospital.

Adelise joined the team in February 2020 to complete her college externship and decided to accept full time employment after graduating from vet tech school.  She has three dogs, Papitto, Amor, and Romeo who are very energetic and keep her busy. Adelise enjoys hiking, shopping and getting manicures.  She was born in Puerto Rico and speaks Spanish.

Ryan joined the Hershey Veterinary Hospital team in May of 2022.  He lives with his parents and older sister.  Ryan enjoys skiing; he also dives for the Hershey HIgh School team. Ryan has a 7-year old cat named Millie.

Maddy joined the team in 2019 after volunteering for 2 years.  Maddy will be a freshman at Florida State University this fall.  She lives with her mom, dad, brother, and sister.  Maddy enjoys playing soccer and the violin, and running cross country.

Alex has been a team member since April 2022.  Her first job (as a teenager) was working in a kennel; that job influenced her decision to work in the veterinary field.  She lives with her boyfriend and Border Collie Ollie.  Alex enjoys lifting weights, being outside in the sun, and eating good food!

Alexander joined the team in April of 2022.  His love of animals led him to Hershey Veterinary Hospital.  He lives with his parents and two brothers.  AP enjoys playing ice hockey and baseball when not working or attending Hershey High School.

Madison joined the team in 2016.  She came to Hershey Veterinary Hospital to work with animals.  Madison graduated from Mansfield University in May 2023.  She will be attending veterinary school in the fall of 2023.  She has two German Shephard pets, Xato and Freya and a cat named Max.  Madison enjoys field hockey, hiking, long boarding, and listening to music.  Her favorite band is Cage the Elephant.

Abigail joined the team in December of 2020.  She is currently attending Penn State as a veterinary and biomedical science major; working at Hershey Veterinary Hospital is the perfect place to learn and gain experience.  She has 3 dogs, Teddy, Sophie, and Bonnie and a black cat named Lumineer.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as working out and watching movies.  She also works at a horse farm.

Sarah joined the team in January of 2018 as a result of a friend recommendation and having wanted to work with animals.  Sarah graduated from Wilson College as a veterinary technology major.  She enjoys listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.  She has a labrador retriever, Roscoe.
